SocEntLab creates new solutions and invests in job creating and education in Kenya through own projects and direct investments and microloans in SE-companies or SE-projects.
We run the SEFT : Social Entrepreneurs Fast Track - The grassroots MBA in Social Entrepreneurship, and do TOT-training and capasitybuilding for startups, schools and cooperative organisations like SACCOs. We also work with investors on impact investing in Africa, and run an incubatorprogramme in Kenya for social purpose enterprises.
Our vision is to create an ecosystem to facilitate for international and local East African Entrepreneurs to grow sustainable businesses with social impact. To do that we partner with local and international companies and institutions. By providing an ecosystem for sustainable economic development for the East African and international markets, and facilitate sustainable economic development in Africa and thus helping entrepreneurs and companies in Africa with growth capital and capacity building, we can create sustainable growth that is also economically sustainable.
SocEntLab finance its growth through the sale of social shares - social equities. Any return on social shares are reinvested in the company's projects to create the most social impact.
SocEntLab East Africa was founded 21. March 2011, but SocEntLab has been in business since 1998 in Norway.
SocEntLab East Africa was started as Caxtus Social Enterprise, but changed its name after merging with a norwegian company. It is a social enterprise and thinkthank based in Nairobi, Kenya, started by Svein Mork Dahl and Lillian Wangondu spring of 2011.
